The Cromane Active Retired held their annual Christmas dinner at Jacks Coastguard Restaurant. The event was well supported with over 70 people attending, where everyone enjoyed a lovely meal, coupled with Jacks usual great service. In the intervals between courses, Tom Foley and Sean Roche did a great job of running the raffle, and distributing the prizes, with Sean also acting as MC for the evening.

The evening included a retirement ceremony where presentations were made to Bridie Little, the Community Councils past Chairperson, and Mary O’Shea, Past Treasurer, who between them have done sterling work for the community spanning many years. Liam Hayes, the current chair of the community council gave a short speech thanking Bridie and Mary for their past work with the community council, and on behalf of the community, wished them both a very happy retirement.

We thank everyone who brought with them donations towards the raffle, and also the local businesses who also gave us some great prizes: Hannah Mary’s, Larkins Bakery, Donie McCarthy, Seamus O’Sullivan, Dave’s Photos.

The very best wishes to Bridie and Mary on their retirement and they will be sadly missed from the Community Council.
